Caboose - Mundelein

This was the best place to eat in Mundelein, but sadly they have recently closed. I was able to contact the owner who informed me that they are planning to reopen soon.

This is a fantastic new spot for brunch or lunch. The grilled cheese with speck and tomatoes paired perfectly with the Texas toast. The cheese was perfectly melted.

My son loves trains, so we often seek out restaurants with a train theme. When we entered this particular restaurant, we were warmly welcomed by the staff at the counter. We placed our order, found a table, and sat down to enjoy our meal.

The Kaboose was amazing! The food was fantastic, and we had a great time with all the decorations. We brought our granddaughter along and the menu was perfect for all three of us.

I haven't been here in a while, but the food is consistently delicious. They offer a nice blend of comforting classics and more unique dishes, making it a great choice for those looking for a bit of variety without straying too far from their comfort zone. The service is straightforward - you place your order and they bring it to your table. It's not perfect, but it's not messy either. Just be aware that the restaurant is located next to train tracks, so you may encounter a delay due to passing trains. And to top it off, it's very affordable.
