Bidrage med feedbackNice place to take a break while skiing at Mount Buller. You can ski in and out of the back of the cafe.<br/ <br/ It is cozy and warm inside (too warm if you have been skiing) and they offer nice hot drinks. The service was a bit disorderly and disinterested. <br/ <br/ It cost about $5 for a nice chai latte, and I would pay that price just to use their clean and uncrowded toilets.
I must say, I appreciate special treatment as a regular customer at a restaurant, but I also understand the importance of accommodating all customers, both regular and new. I was disappointed to be seated next to a cold door at this restaurant in Mt Buller, with a constant flow of guests and staff passing through, despite there being double doors that were left open for convenience. When we asked to move to a warmer spot, we were informed that the best tables were reserved for regular customers, which was not communicated to us beforehand. The food was decent, but the tomahawk steak was tough for aged beef and some of the tapas meats were also dry. The wine list was adequate and the service was fast and efficient. The layout of the restaurant was okay, but I would reconsider the bar and seating arrangements. Overall, I would not return to this restaurant as a non-regular customer, as it seems I would not receive a good seat.
I absolutely love Snow Pony! Whenever we head to the snow, we make sure to stop by this place. It never fails to impress. Today, we went in for lunch and had the burger and chicken salad, both were delicious. The pastries were amazing and the hot chocolate was perfect. It's the ideal spot to cozy up by the fire and warm up.
But wow, we were so happy we decided to dine at this restaurant last night. The dining area was warm and spacious. Although they did not have high chairs for kids, the children sat in regular seats which made it difficult for them to stay seated. We were served prawn crackers as starters with added spices that made it unique. We tried the delicious duck which was flavorful and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beef tomahawk was nicely presented but nothing exceptional. They offered a different kids meal each night, and on this particular night it was chicken and beans on rice. My only complaints would be the $3 charge for babycinnos and $7.5 for two scoops of ice cream, which I felt was quite expensive. The staff was courteous, lovely, and very accommodating. The food was quite delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful.
Beautiful atmosphere, warm and tastefully appointed. The Pork belly was a tad too sweet but the squid ink prawn rice cakes and the saganaki were amazing! I'm not too big on sweets so we had a cheese platter to follow, though perhaps I'll try desserts next time. And the wine was very good too. Full marks on service. Quick, friendly, attentive and knowledgable on the menu. We certainly will be back. Thanks very much for a very nice dining experience.
