Bidrage med feedbackOur family of 5 experienced the Easter Sunset Dinner Cruise. We are locals and have wanted to try cruising the Solaris for years. Booking was simple, but took a little longer than you'd expect because you have to include all of the guests' dinner orders. You also have to fill out waivers for everyone. I received an email confirmation immediately as well as subsequent emails with all of the pertinent information. They addressed everything from weather issues, cancellation policy, attire, tipping and incredibly detailed directions. We arrived a little earlier than the 5:45 suggested arrival for a 6:30 departure. It was an unseasonably cold day, with cloudy skies, winds and choppy surf. We had to stand in line for a very short time. They allowed each group to embark one at a time for a group photo that they provided for sale later. $15 for 1 photo and $10 for each additional print. Great picture! We were seated and immediately offered a drink/appetizer menu. Everything arrived quickly! We ordered 3 out of 5 appetizers offered and they were all great! These are not included in the price when you pre-order your meal. We ordered smoked tuna dip (a local delicacy), New Orleans BBQ shrimp and steak bruschetta. The tuna dip was a little different than I've had around here, but delicious! The shrimp were gigantic and well prepared. Bruschetta was good. While we waited for our main course, there was live music. I would describe it as jazzy. Later they played DJ music and people got up to dance throughout the evening. There was a little line dancing and some sing-along tunes. They sang Happy Birthday to some folks and announced special occasions. It was cute. Dinner was served about 30-45 minutes into the cruise. We ordered the shrimp and grits, Solaris chicken and braised short rib. I would say the shrimp and grits was the best of the 3 we tried. The chicken was tasty but it was a bone-in cut and dry. The short rib was tender and well presented, but a little tomatoey for my liking. The waiter was very helpful and friendly. He was efficient and available. Dessert was included and was a tasty carrot cake bread pudding. Coffee and hot tea were offered, but hard to come by because they were self-serve out of carafes. They were slow to refill them. Overall, the food was average, but the experience was lovely. Even though the weather wasn't ideal and the bay was choppy, it was a smooth ride. I tend to get seasick, and I was fine! I would bring a light sweater no matter what, because even though you're inside a temperature controlled room, we fluctuated between being too warm and chilly. We did not pay for guaranteed window seating, but were seated by the window, as were a majority of the groups. There's one central aisle of seating, but even they had a terrific view. This is NOT a booze cruise. There were a few guests who over did it and it showed. This is a family-friendly event that was also a romantic setting. Although there was dancing and singing, it was not wild. They embarrassed themselves. I will definitely take visitors to cruise the Solaris in the future. It was great!
Had a great time!!! Would do this dinner cruise again. Food was delicious and staff was great. Fun time had by everyone in our party.
We called last minute as weather was hit or miss. They got us on the boat last minute and Rachel staff Captain were great. We danced and took pics of sunset on roof AND saw dolphins. It was a perfect birthday trip!
Right from the greeting at the entry to the yacht we had an amazing experience. The food was top notch, the service was too. The boat was very clean and the fireworks at the end were a perfect send off. The live entertainment was amazing... Highly recommend this excursion.
I had a very nice time, my friend treated me for belated birthday. The staff/crew were very friendly and I enjoyed the beautiful sunset. It was cool outside and very warm and cozy inside. The food was delicious too! I will be doing this again.
