Cafe Rio Mexican Grill - Mesa

Awful. I tried their $5 nacho special for the first time since it's close to where I live. I was really looking forward to it, as the nachos on their website looked delicious with lots of gooey cheese. However, what I actually received was disgusting. The guacamole was brown and there was some crusty brown substance on the side. There was hardly any cheese, and the chips were stale and hard. I will not be returning. They were supposed to follow up with me about my experience, but never did.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I will definitely not be returning. The service was extremely slow, even though there were only two people ahead of us in line. The woman taking our order was incredibly rude when I requested extra cheese, her reaction made me feel like I was asking for a huge favor. The beans in my burrito were so watery that they made the entire dish soggy, a waste of $15. I would not recommend this place to anyone and if I could give it zero stars, I would. I love going to Cafe Rio, it's one of my go-to spots for a quick meal. However, this particular location has some issues. They appear to be short-staffed, which results in slow service. The management should consider hiring more employees and possibly increasing their pay.

Always super good food and super fast service. We love going here for fresh Mexican food. I love that they have the loyalty program. Building points each time you go so that you can get something in return as a reward.

Cafe rios food is usually fresh and amazing. However this location is HORRIBLE. The employees are RUDE and don't care. The manager is not friendly at all and lazy. The food is ALWAYS old and dry. They are always out of items and won't cook more food. We ordered chips and queso and they forgot our chips. Drive further to go to a different location don't bother going here.
