Suburban Lounge Wimbledon - Merton

Made booking for Friday night and if they drink after cheap while standing, then it could be her place, but not to eat. takes the age to order everything, even to get the attention and I understand that it is bar in wimbledon on Friday night, but from this reason they should not accept table bookings for dinner. we did not eat at edwards, as no table was booked for us to get even drinks. there is nothing wrong with edwards as animated, loud bar when that is what they are, but not dining room.

Great place. 2 for 1 cocktails until 8 pm. My friends' first time. I loved it. Great staff. Sitting next to a beautiful open fire.

Suburban is the only bar worth going to in Wimbledon. They have a wide variety of drinks, daily happy hour, friendly staff, and great music. What more could you need?

As a senior contributor on Tripadvisor, I have reviewed hundreds of places in many countries, but this unfortunately is my only bad experience. They generally have good reviews, but this one falls short. Suburban used to be one of our favorite bars in Wimbledon, but it just wasn't the same anymore. The atmosphere is nice, as are the drinks, but the change in staff has been the main downside. We booked a table for 13 people on Sunday, May 26, 2019, over a holiday weekend to celebrate a birthday. We ordered drinks as we thought it was happy hour all night, but the bartender said it ended at 8 pm, so we accepted it. My friend who booked the table later said the manager told him it was happy hour all night, so we asked again if we could perhaps get the other cocktails as 2 for 1 that we paid for instead. He asked the manager and the manager just told us to take shots for the inconvenience and that the next drinks would be 2 for 1. To be fair, he apologized and the manager never told them it would run all night until 2 am. He made us 13 shots of what he called new cocktails they were trying out, basically a mix of all the leftovers from their bartenders. We asked if they had a tray, he answered a cutting board, but that would involve going to the kitchen. So instead he brought it to our table. Very helpful. To make things worse, my friends ordered after me and were charged for regular drinks not on 2 for 1, then the guy told the other bartender I told you to charge them half. Disappointing indeed. No wonder it's empty and everyone is at the opposite bar, which has a bad reputation. Says a lot.

I highly recommend this charming bar located in the heart of Wimbledon. The atmosphere is fantastic, with great music and delicious food and drinks. It's the perfect spot for a fun night out.
