The Royal Standard - Mary Tavy

No longer The Royal Standard but a small licensed cafe called Cafe Scrumptious. It was scrumptious indeed and we enjoyed a brilliant, well priced cream tea served with a smile even though it was only half hour before closing after a busy Sunday shift. We’re just sorry we missed the Sunday roast and will be back to ty it next time! #creamfirst

Now a lovely little cafe. Had a nice burger and chips there. Reasonable price too.

Arrived pre booked for a birthday lunch on bank holiday to find the door closed but managed to get someone's attention we gather there was a family problem and did receive an apology that our booking had not been recorded. However ushered in, the menu is small and we ordered burgers whish were home made and tasty with good home made slaw and lovely fries, I gather they do a Sunday roast and was surprised that it was not on offer, the menu appeared to be mainly breakfasts with a few pub type snacks. Perhaps we need to return to see what things are like when normal.

Now operating as Cafe Scrumptious, this establishment is more of a restaurant and cafe than a pub. I highly recommend trying the Sunday carvery!
