Congee Queen - Markham

Here is a restaurant with good decor, good food and good service. Their dishes are very traditional and are in good portion. Nice presentation is also one of their strengths. If there is anything that I would rate as less positive is the acoustic in the restaurant. Because of the high ceiling, sound travels; hence, the noise level in the restaurant tends to be high. So, if you go this restaurant with the intent to carry on some form of business, i.e. business lunch or business dinner, it would be less ideal. For casual gatherings, this restaurant would be perfect. It has nice ambiance, provides good food in large portions and noticeably good service. Definitely worth the money you pay for..............

Excellent place to visit if you are into Chinese Food. Portions are enormous, so don't over order. You'll have to take goggle bags home!

Very traditional Chinese family style restaurant. Easy to order for non-Chinese speaking people like me. Having traveled to China 20+ times, this place definitely reminds me of my visits over seas. Highly recommend a meal here for any lovers of real Chinese food!

The service at this restaurant was very quick. Our food arrived very quickly. Also, we did not wait at all to have our seats. I will definitely visit this place again when I come back to Markham.

It was a simple meal. We ordered a bowl of Sliced Fish & Blood Jello Congee, Snow Pea Leaves with Garlic Sauce, and a bowl of customized fish soup noodle (this was completely similar to the ones that Deer Garden offers where for $9.75, you can customize your soup base, noodles, toppings, and add on a snack too). K chose the Tomato & Pumpkin Fish Soup base with udon, king oyster mushrooms, tofu puffs, with a side of pan fried beef tongue.Everything was decent and filling. The snow pea leaves were especially fresh and soft. The bowl of udon was very large too and came with steaming hot soup. The Tomato & Pumpkin Fish Soup base was so clear and appetizing. We really enjoyed the pan fried beef tongue too. It was so tender and well seasoned.
