I grew-up in Marietta and I had never been to the Beer Barrel in all of the many years that I have lived here. I have only just accidentally discovered this gem and I 'm so happy I did. YES, the Beer Barrel is the epitome of a classic dive bar and it 's wonderful! I am a widow and now don 't have many friends, but the staff and patrons of the Beer Barrel openly welcomed me and I feel like I have actually made a few 'real ' friends.
