Bartaco - Madison

I was advised to go to the bar by the waiter at the front. It seemed like it was going to be a great experience until I received my to go order. I simply asked the bartender for a sprite lemonade drink to go. I wouldn’t have minded the pouch if it had a straw or a cup but I was unable to drink my drinks because I don’t have a bottle open for the sprite NOR Do I have a straw to consume my lemonade. Long story short the whole transaction inconvenience me I was simply trying to get a sip of something during my holiday shopping. Hopefully they do better in the future and accommodate the black customers with the same urgency and mindfulness they do with the other customers.

I originally hadn't intended to stop by, but with the doors all opened and the airy feel of the location compelled me despite not having the greatest appetite. I ordered three tacos I was told people often order 3 5 because they're small eats. I got the roasted duck, a fish taco, and a fried oysters taco. The wait time was a little much, but given universal staffing concerns and the fact there were a sizable number of people already there 20 minutes after they opened, it was reasonable. Overall, a fun experience. My star rating may go up the next time I go when I can try more items and actually have an appetite. Definitely worth the side tracking if you're shopping at Hilldale.

The timing on the arrival of our food was a little off but it was also very busy. The food was extremely good. We ordered the ceviche, chicken Verde rice bowl, corn fritters and some chips with guacamole. All very tasty and fresh. We'll certainly be coming back again.

We first discovered bartaco in Nashville and we’re so excited when one opened in Madison! We’ve made it a must go place every time we’re in town. You can’t beat the atmosphere and all of the food is so tasty. Their esquites and guacamole is SO good definitely recommend on every visit! The drinks are also really good and always refreshing. Plus, we always get great service that is quick and friendly. I really like the ordering system they have in place while still having great service as needed.

At Bartaco you order online and then they bring your food out to you. Personally I was not a big a fan of this system and the website I had to use to order my food was very annoying. The appetizers were the best part. The guacamole and salsas were amazing. The corn fitters were delicious. The tacos were just okay. I didn’t think they were anything amazing. Overall service was pretty quick and it was a good meal but I would not come back here.
