Drowsy Poet Coffee Shop - Lynchburg

If you've never had a Milton especially on a HOT day you are missing out, it's like NO other milkshake ever. Great fresh coffee (lots of books). This location is has great food items, hummus plate, great sandwiches, fun atmosphere (inside of Givens books store). Don't forget they have Hard Ice cream...worth the visit.

Awake and loving every moment at the Drowsy! The menu offers fresh and enticing selections, but I often find myself going for the Popular Forest. The portion sizes are generous, and the food safety practices are top-notch. Just a heads-up: the prices are on the higher side, so don’t forget your wallet. I also appreciate the proper use of gloves by the staff, and the food is presented in a transparent and honest manner.

I absolutely love visiting Drowsy Poet! The sandwiches are amazing, and they serve the best hot chocolate around. My favorite sandwich combo is the Poplar Forest with spicy bean dip—it's incredible! They also have cozy little nooks perfect for reading and enjoying a peaceful lunch.

A coffee shop located within a bookstore—what's not to love? I enjoy having lunch here; the sandwiches are delicious and generously sized. They offer a wide variety of hot drinks, a great selection of teas, and even milkshakes and ice cream!

I've been coming here for 20 years and I've never had anything I didn't enjoy. The Milton is truly one of a kind; I believe it's like Paradise Lost. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is always fantastic. The Drowsy Poet is definitely a hidden gem in Lynchburg.
