Bidrage med feedbackBad experience here. Had some good meals at other branches so booked this for a late lunch. Waitress was off-hand from the beginning and threw water all over the table due to her careless attitude. Took one of our menus away as it was soaked and didn’t bother bringing a replacement. Was less than friendly. Lamb skewer was stringy. We were not spoken to about the main course, dessert menus were thrown at us. We took the chance to get the bill without ordering anything else and refused to pay a service charge. We went elsewhere for coffees and desserts. Other waitress explained the poor service due to her being tired, but seriously that is not an acceptable excuse for treating customers poorly.
We have visited The Real Greek multiple times over the years but I think we would consider lots of other places before deciding to go again. The Kali Orexi set menu option which is online we had to request as we weren't automatically given the menu for it. The food quality was just ok, the Fava was missing the capers and the Greek Salad that came with our skewers was missing olives. The amount of feta on each plate was very variable and the salad vegetables didn't taste like anything special. The melitzanosalata was very nice though so if I had to go again I would have that.
Lovely food. There are so many Greek and Turkish restaurants around and this was up there with them. Souvlaki was very tasty and the dips were served on a tiered plate which was a good touch. Service was good and price was reasonable.
The worst restaurant meal we ever had! The restaurant is very filthy run down, the floors are dirty and tables are old and damaged. Im really surprised they 're allowed to operate. left feeling disgusted. The food standards were the worst I 've seen, none of the food is freshly cooked and all looked like fast food out of packets yet they charge around £8 for tiny little portions, very greedy. The calamari was burnt out pieces taken out of a packet from Aldi and chucked into fryer. The hot food came ALL cold, the fried fish dishes came looking like its been dipped in greasy oil thats been in the pan all day, they even served burnt out remains from the bottom of the pan into the dish, what an awful chef!...and nothing was fresh, the sauces look like been on plate for hours. The worst dish was the octopus....there was nearly no octopus... it was 3 micro pieces of octopus out of a can spread across a plate of some terrible sauce to make you feel full. We complained to the staff, and to be fair to them they were nice and didn 't dispute this and did not let us pay. They were very polite. However, the restaurant manager clearly needs retraining on accepatble standards and the chef changing.
It sufficed as a quick pre theatre lunch house wine was nice but the chicken souvlaki wrap was lukewarm and the chips inside cold. The service wasn’t with a smile either. I don’t think I’d return.
