El Camion Soho - London

Great first impressions with the interiors, food and security team managing the queue outside the bar really lovely guys. Unfortunately we would not return due to the rudeness of the lady managing the inside entry to the basement bar. Multiple complaints heard within the bar about her unwelcoming attitude and aggressive communication with guests a big deterrent to what otherwise would be a lovely bar.

I always come here great vibes and always great fun HOWEVER the European waiter with an attitude was rude and was sexist!!! We where sitting next to some girls and he was flirty and giving them some recommendations as we where sat next to them and could hear the same conversation and they where lovely the pair of them, and when he took our order he wanted nothing to do with us getting agitated looking around being rude to us almost making us feel uncomfortable and not wanted ! We all work in hospitality and know this behaviour was odd and why he decided to pick on us and not the ladies funny right! Even the ladies picked it up which was quite funny and how he’s character changed from when he turned from table to table. I think he needs to be more polite and be shown how to respect every one and not discriminate people as we felt discriminated! But apart from that food and drink where great but not happy with the waiter !

At a bar in the area I decided that I could really do with some Mexican food and as I had drunk a fair bit didn't want to go too far. Googling Mexican restaurants brought us to El Camion and am so glad it did. What a fabulous little place, small but perfectly filled and laid out. Friendly welcome as you walk in and drinks order taken and made quickly. The sauce bottles that decorate the place are definitely a conversation piece and would love to have the opportunity to try some! The whole service works so well and you are quickly served everything but not feeling rushed at all. Their pina colada was lovely, refreshing and the husband had a beer whilst we waited for our meals. My haddock taco was sublime and so well cooked my husband enjoyed his burritos with the shared chicken wings and jalapeno poppers. We definitely left with full and satisfied tummies and it set us up for the evening ahead.

Hidden gem. Went in with low expectations, but downstairs we had a fantastic evening our bartender Francisco was amazing. Answered our never-ending questions about different cocktails, and made us delicious drinks. We’ll be back.

Our reservation for drinks was downstairs at the Pink Chihuahua; the staff were cool, drinks were well made. Do not order the nuclear daiquiri to start! It is potent. The tacos were flavourful im ready to return. 10/10
