Butler Lake Park - Libertyville

My son plays baseball here for Libertyville Little League. The fields are great and nice grounds for a walk. There is also a small park for the kiddos.

Great place to play baseball. Fields and amenities are really nice.

I only managed to catch one bass. The water is still a bit chilly.

It's a small, somewhat hidden park that may not be very modern, but my kids still have a great time there. It has swings and monkey bars, which they really enjoy.

I attended a weekend of back-to-back football games over Labor Day, and I was disappointed with the parking situation. There simply wasn’t enough parking available. Signs indicated not to park on the grass or risk getting a ticket, yet I noticed many cars parked on the grass. When I asked other parents if they had been ticketed, they said there hadn’t been any tickets issued for the last four weeks. However, on this holiday weekend, the tickets were indeed being issued! The organizers need to either close off half the fields, allow 45 minutes between games for the parking lot to clear, or find a way to provide more parking. It’s really unfortunate that I ended up paying $25 to see my nephew’s first game in three years due to such poor parking planning. I understand if the grass is wet, but the ground was as hard as a rock!
