Bidrage med feedbackI mean food is okay but indian curry that has nothing to do with real indian curry is a bit weird isn’t it? Prices are not cheap for Myanmar either, maybe new bagan is an expensive place but we have eaten much better for much less in Myanmar.
The couple that owns the restaurant is extremely kind and helpful. The restaurant is very cute, especially by night, with lots of little lights and candles (as well as mosquito coils under the tables). I had chapartee curry with chicken and my girlfriend had chapartee curry with vegetables. It was one of the best curry we’ve had for a long time. Portions are rather large much bigger than it looks like. There is also a large selection of Asian and Western food but we have only tried their curries. On top of that, they offer complimentary peanuts, tamarind candies and bananas.
I had lunch and twice dinner there during my 3 days in Bagan. The food is really really good and the family is very nice and friendly. I always got some extras when eating there, peanuts, tomato salad, bananas and tamarin candies as dessert. The place looks very simple but relaxed. At night they have a lot of lanterns in the garden :
Their Indian food is authentic in their own particular sense, not like India Indian authentic . Calling it interpretation of Indian food might be a stretch... In any case, it was delicious. Besides the vegetable chapati, we also had the Burmese pork curry which came with a tomato side salad and spicy chillies mixed with something that seemed like fried onion sand garlic (yummy! . They told me to mix it all. Oh... Delicious. Highly recommended.
Very friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Indian food is decent but not fantastic. Curry is a little blander than I would have liked but chapati was light and fluffy.
