Red Pepper Chinese - Lawrence

We really love this spot, but our last few visits haven't been as good as we'd hoped. The egg rolls were a bit unusual, and our spicy dumplings had a flavor reminiscent of play-dough. Unfortunately, the general chicken was also lacking. We truly want to appreciate this place, but it just isn't quite hitting the mark at the moment.

This is, without a doubt, the best Chinese food in town. I'm not open to any criticism on this matter! I would choose this restaurant over any other in the entire state, and even over places in Florida. Highly recommend!

Just passing thru and decided to get take out for supper. Everything is superb. All prepared fresh.

I 've never been unhappy with a dish here! I strongly suggest ordering off the authentic menu, though apparently the general tso 's chicken too! The service is always great (even though they 're only doing pick up) and the food is consistently good. The only issue I 've ever had is that some of their items are too spicy for me but, to be fair, they do mark which items on their menu are spicy and they have even accommodated me by making these dishes less spicy. Lots of great vegetarian options too, and they 've even special made certain dishes without meat for me as well! This is the first place I recommend to folks new in Lawrence. My family 's favorite dishes: mapo tofu, dry pots, country style beef, general tso 's chicken, FRIED DONUTS, sesame rolls, and sesame noodles.
