Bidrage med feedbackCame in for a brunch around 11am on a Sunday with another couple pre play. We had a 1pm play, The Buddy Holly Story across the river at the Buck County Playhouse. Parking was simple and free until 1pm. The place is an old house, or like a small inn. It is a BYOB we brought some prosecco. There is a bar area where you can sit and have a meal or cup of coffee then the small dining room is just to the left. Table seating was comfortable if a tad small. Service was prompt but a bit relaxed. Many youngsters serving and acting as hostesses. All ok if a wee bit unprofessional. This is a vegan joint. We did not know this as our friends had suggested the place. But there are plenty of choices available for brunch to suit any taste. I spied a bean cake on the menu so I got it having never had a bean cake before. It was about a one half to three quarter inch thick bean cake, mostly lentils and some others, served with two sunny side up eggs over top and a side of roasted potatoes and two pieces of whole wheat toast. Surprisingly delicious. Ambiance is modest sized inn or old house, 19th century, plenty of light and art from local painters hanging on all the walls. Very nice. We liked it and will likely return when back in Lambertville. Mark Nancy.
Visited New Hope for the first time today after years of people telling me who cute it is. We grabbed lunch before walking around at Cafe Galleria. This place which used to be a house is super cute. There is both outdoor and indoor seating. We sat inside and were seated immediately. Kyle then came over, introduced himself and told us about the specials. My daughter and I are vegan so she got the chili with soy cheese (dayia) and I ordered the margarita pie with soy cheese and fresh spinach then got the hummus with a side of veggies for the table. My husband shared the pizza with me and really liked it. He's not a fan of dayia cheese but can definitely taste the change in their recipe. The chili was good, spicy, but good and the pizza was awesome. Their desserts were vegan so we asked Kyle to put one of each aside for us which he did. We got the brownie, s'mores cupcake and black bottom cupcake all were awesome. Kyle was so good, friendly and sweet. We really liked him.
We stopped in for something sweet after lunch in New Hope. A BYOB restaurant housed in a transformed Victorian. When you first walk in there is a selection of gelato and a coffee bar. Further inside and there are tables, as well as tables on the wrap-around porch. We ordered lattes and gelato. The service was friendly and helpful, offering us tastes of different gelatos. We settled into a cafe table and watched as the dinner crowd started to appear. This is obviously a popular, local spot. And I would definitely come back to try their dinner menu.
It was a perfect crisp fall evening. Our anniversary in fact. We had done some celebrating on our own and had our two kiddos ages 4&6 and my Mom in tow for dinner. We stumbled upon this place. It looked very cute. Yelp reviews were decent. So we gave it a shot without even looking at the menu first. Little did I know what a treat I was in for! Very cute little converted house turned restaurant. The front porch seating is very charming. Unfortunately, they were completely booked. It was a Saturday night. So I'm guessing reservations are probably a good idea. The changing art on the interior makes for an interesting vibe and is obvious the theme of the place. The candles, white linens and water carafes at the tables are a nice touch. I love not having to wait for water as I drink a ton of it! Love the pew benches and pillows. Very cozy. The delicious smell hits you when you walk in the front door and you can't help but notice the gelato staring at you and the unique coffee menu too. Chai cider caught my eye. Sounds perfect for the fall day that it was! I didn't have it however. Maybe next time. One caffeinated drink a day is plenty for me. The hostess and waitress were both very nice and attentive although my Mom had noted after we left no one asked if we wanted parm cheese after we received our meals. Not a big deal. Menu: unexpectedly amazing choices for vegans!! Woo hoo! I had no idea and was so pleasantly surprised at the variety. Even vegan cheese and seitan! I ordered the Pan Roasted Seitan With plum tomatoes, garden peas, canelli beans, avocado and soy mozzarella over a bed of organic brown rice. It was $16 and huge! And delish!!! I've never had a dish like this. I loved it. My husband had the pumpkin ravioli in walnut cream sauce special and he loved his. $22 Kiddos gobbled up their raviolis from the kids menu $8 and my Mom had the roasted chicken which she said was just ok. The bread was warm but nothing to write home about. I later read they make it fresh. It didn't necessarily seem that way. My family got gelato to go afterwards. We are all quite picky after having been to Italy and they actually said the chocolate was amazing! Big points for the romantic lighting, front porch seats and plethora of vegetarian and vegan options. I would definitely come back and try other vegan dishes. We wish we would have known it was BYOB or about the music of Friday nights. Better planning next time! But great find!
Cutest restaurant in Lambertville with a wide variety of food choices! Atmosphere is very cozy homey, has a coffee bar, ice cream selection, indoor outdoor patio seating. They display different artist's paintings on the wall all for sale! which is really cool to look at while enjoying your meal. BYOB! We got the goat cheese crostini to start (after we ate the amazing complimentary bread) which was delicious. I got the sausage broccoli rabe linguini which is a fav of mine really good with big pieces of sausage. My dad got the tofu zorba which isn't something I'd normally order but I tried and a bite and loved it! The sauce was amazing and really made the dish. We finished with the sweet cream vanilla gelato which was a perfect way to end a yummy meal. This place is great for people with all types of food preferences and has many vegan, vegetarian, GF options as well as plenty of meat and fish! A must try when in Lambertville!
