Shaker Mill Restaurant - Lake Cowichan

I had chickens which were fine. They would have been better if the owned would have quit telling me how great they were.

There was a music festival in town .. So there was a "Special menu" that consisted of a buffet or eggs Benny's. We were looking forward to trying out Shaker Mill. But the modified menu was a turn off!

We dropped by for lunch and it was good. The food took awhile but it was understandable since there was only one server that also acted as the cashier. We wouldn't be surprised if she was also the one who cooked our food. She was really friendly and nice. My Benny on Crabcake was delicious! My wife's Cornbeef was also good.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast but waited over an hour for our meal which was very basic and overpriced.

The decor needs a little TLC, but the food is great. I had the curry chicken poutine. There was enough for 2 meals. The flavours worked well together. I would go there again.
