Tomo Poke Bowl - Knoxville

I genuinely eat poke bowls here every week because they are delicious. The only issue I have is the inconsistency. Some days, it’s absolutely worth the money with plenty of toppings and perfect ratios; other days, it falls short with barely any seafood, sauces squeezed into a corner instead of evenly spread, and minimal toppings. If they could conduct training on how to prepare every poke bowl in the same way each time, it would be a perfect five stars across the board.

On August 18, 2022, I visited this restaurant with a friend for dinner, having discovered it through a Groupon offer. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed and given a variety of food options since it was our first time there. My friend ordered the beef ramen, while I opted for the seafood ramen along with a fried soft shell crab. Our meals were prepared quickly and arrived piping hot. I had never tried crab prepared this way before, and it was absolutely delicious. Both of our ramen dishes were incredibly flavorful and satisfying. I highly recommend checking this place out. The interior is lovely, and the staff is very friendly. You won't be disappointed! Be sure to order the ramen and definitely try the soft shell crab.

My bowl came with brown rice, but it looked like it had been sitting around for awhile. He struggled to break it apart, and there was no steam rising from it. When he added the other ingredients, he was very stingy—there was more rice than anything else—and he didn’t seem to add any seasoning at all. I expressed my desire for sesame seeds, and he informed me that they used sesame oil and soy sauce, claiming there were seeds in the sauce. However, I didn’t find any seeds in it. After he rang me up, I took my meal to a table and noticed that they had napkins wedged under the tables to stabilize them—this place could definitely use some maintenance. As for the food itself, it was incredibly bland, with no seasoning and the rice was hard and cold. It was easily the worst poke bowl I’ve ever had, and I cannot recommend this place. I also found the TV screen was frozen, so there was nothing to watch. Overall, I wouldn’t return.

Always fresh and delicious. We go here often for poke bowls. Staff is always nice and pretty generous with their portions. Worth the drive to Hardin Valley!

Quick pick up, really fresh tasting food, and great portions! The people working there seemed pleasant. Will definitely come by again.
