Bidrage med feedbackIt was difficult not to fall in love with Tartufo; it’s a beautiful restaurant serving simple and non fussy food that’s big on tasty flavours. Head chef Manuel Oliveri is formerly of Gauthier in Soho which perhaps explains it. Combine that with fantastic service, we could not have been looked after any better, and you’ve got yourself a rather charming restaurant.
Surprisingly, another new restaurant has opened in Chelsea this year with barely no whisper of its arrival. The brains behind this plush new opening is Alexis Gauthier of Gauthier Soho and head chef Manuel Oliveri who also came from Gautier restaurant and previously working in Italy at Gualtiero Marchesi's Ristorante di Erbusco in Milan. Tartufo is set in the basement of luxury Knightsbridge based hotel, No 11 Cadogan Gardens, a short stroll from Sloane Square tube station. Originally built as four separate Victorian townhouses, No.11 Cadogan Gardens was built by Lord Chelsea in the late 19th Century. A portrait of Hans Sloane, the namesake of Sloane Square, is the first to be seen at the foot of the grand staircase. The building is magnificent with historically grandeur. Having read various reviews we knew that we were in store for a treat. The menu choices at lunch included a set lunch menu with wine or a tasting menu. We wanted to try some dishes from the tasting coupled with some from the set lunch...read more
