Sushi Mura - Kelvin Grove

We have plenty of Japanese cuisine options at reasonable prices. The food is tasty and perfect for travelers, as the establishment understands both its potential and its core customer base. Located in the renovated dining area of QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus, this spot is surprisingly the least glamorous in the room, yet it remains a favorite among students. At the back, you’ll find the more appealing section for Japanese cuisine, where dishes are made to order. However, most items are pre-prepared, leading to a bustling environment around lunchtime. This place is called Sushi Mura, and it's just as good as it sounds.

The boiled tuna and salmon sushi is delicious and quite enjoyable, making it a comfortable choice at QUT.

QUT students, staff, and locals are incredibly fortunate to have this straightforward Japanese “canteen” nearby. The sushi is not only delicious but also generously portioned and very reasonably priced. Their rice bowls are excellent as well, although the Teriyaki bowl could use a bit less sauce (a quick request to the chef might help!). They open and close early, making it a great option to snag some discounts for dinner at home!
