Bidrage med feedbackThis is one of my favorite dining spots in Salem. It's a warm, family-run restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. I absolutely love the deluxe noodles; they are creamy and perfectly spiced. The drunken noodles feature delicious wide noodles, while the pad woon sen offers fantastic flavor with its thin, tasty vermicelli noodles. The crab puff appetizer is both crispy and creamy, and the Thai tea is sweet and refreshing. It's also really convenient to get takeout from here; the portions are generous and they usually prepare the food quickly. I highly recommend Red Ginger if you're looking for great Thai cuisine in the Salem/Keizer area.
Very good taste! We went there for dinner twice in two weeks. Very friendly waitress who is also the owner. Will go there in the future for sure. The only problem is the parking area, felt a little worry when we parked on the side of the street in the back of the restaurant since the parking was full when we got there, it's ok eventually. (Pictures are our two visits)
Finding this restaurant was quite challenging due to the lack of visible signage and no direct entry or parking available. Unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations at all. It lacked flavor, and the chicken tasted old, with a distinctly fishy aftertaste that was quite unpleasant. The Pad Thai was equally disappointing; it also had no flavor. Furthermore, the portion of chicken was minimal—just three small quarter pieces in each dish. Despite our hunger, we forced ourselves to eat some, which proved to be a mistake as I felt unwell all the next day. I'm sorry to have to leave such a negative review, but it appears that there is little attention to the quality of the food, which is disheartening.
The regular menu prices are quite high, ranging from $13 to $18, making it a potentially expensive lunch. The waiter claimed that the portions were large, but I would have to disagree. We requested a typical Thai condiment, Prik Nam Pla, and they didn’t even know what it was! That was concerning. Although they tried to prepare it for us, they were out of Thai chilies and lime, which are crucial ingredients in Thai cuisine and key components of Prik Nam Pla. We ordered Larb, which usually has a significant amount of lime, but it was lacking since they had run out. Additionally, the green curry was overly sweet and missed essential flavors from kaffir lime leaves and galangal. Overall, our experience was disappointing.
We 've been coming here off and on for a couple of years and have always been very happy with the experience. It 's a nice cozy atmosphere and clean. I usually get the red curry either Thai hot or hot and they actually make it HOT. I find a lot of places will say hot but it 's more sweet than spicy. The ginger stir fry is always very good, the veggies are never mushy/over cooked. Overall a really good place tor lunch or dinner!
