The Mahogany Bar And Grill - KATHERINE

We had the steak and salmon. Presentation very poor. For $60 for both I have had cheaper and tastier well presented food in road houses. I am a regular to Katherine but would not return here to eat again. The care factor for what the chef was presenting was zero.Both meals were pretty bland.Nice bar area for a drink if you get rid of the drunk ringer staggering around the place at 7.30pm at night. Not a good look on the regulation of your Liqour License. Needs major revamp.

I had the chicken Schnitzel here. They can be tough in Australia but this was so very tender, the best I have ever had outside of Europe. It was a generous portion and came with a complimentary salad and chips (admittedly a rather small portion of chips). It was served quite quickly by a very pleasant person. I found all the staff to be friendly.

We went as two couples out for dinner. The female serving us DROPPED our entrees on the table, then proceeded to bring out our main meals about 10 minutes and also put them down roughly in the table. We ordered the triple cheese pasta which was very bland and only had cream through it and cheese on top, as well as steak supreme which was supposed to have mushrooms and bacon on it, and only had gravy on top. We also ordered the lamb shanks, it came out with one tiny shank that was still FROZEN in the middle! There was also a scotch steak, that was over cooked - it was asked to be cooked "rare" and it came out "medium to well-done" Would definitely not go back again and it's very disappointing that a restaurant can't even serve food that is cooked properly!

I nicely presented place. Great for hanging out with drinks at the bar, and a completely closed-off quiet area to sit down for a meal.
