Don The Beachcomber Royal Kona Resort

We have dined at many restaurants by the waterfront, and Don's is one of the best in our opinion. We appreciate the peaceful ambiance of the Kona scene, which is less crowded than other islands, allowing us to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. Don's captures this laid-back vibe by simply letting the beauty of the ocean speak for itself, without trying too hard to be trendy or fashionable. And it truly does.

The ocean view from the table at this open-air restaurant is amazing. The sound of the surf crashing on black lava rocks is almost within reach and the sunset view was stunning. While the service was slow and somewhat mediocre, the food was pretty good but not particularly memorable. Despite this, we enjoyed our visit and appreciated the outdoor setting. However, we felt that the staff could be more welcoming, enthusiastic, and friendly, which would greatly enhance the overall experience.

The Kona area offers one of the most stunning views, but unfortunately the food at this restaurant is mediocre at best. It's worth stopping by for a drink and the scenery, but I would recommend dining elsewhere.

We ate in many restaurants on the water. Don's rate as one of the best for us. We really like the Kona scene quieter than other islands, with very few people there style and profile. Don's matches that don't try to be hip or cool, just let the ocean speak for itself. And it does.

The sea view from the table in this Open Air restaurant is fantastic. Surfing on black lava rocks almost at touching distance. And the sunset looked great. The service was slow and moderate, but OK. The food was also quite good, but not what I would call very unforgettable. We enjoyed our visit and we loved the view and the outside area. The staff at greetings and sittings and servings could be more inviting, exciting and friendly, which raises the experience here immensely.
