The Houston Lodge

I don’t normally write reviews, but this place was SO WORTH OUR STOP. I’d rate it 5 extra stars if I could. After a long day at Denali, our group could not decide which restaurant to stop at on the way back to Anchorage. We’re very glad we picked Houston Lodge. Everything was sublime. We got two burgers, clam chowder, gumbo, buffalo wings, the ribeye, and the peach cobbler, which was probably too much food for a group of 4. The burger was one of the best I’ve ever had! Prices were fair, portions were massive, the service was very friendly, and there was even live music! Our only regret was overstuffing ourselves because the food was just too good to stop.

We really enjoyed the food. Great burgers and chicken (very tender and delicious) artichoke melt sandwich. The fries are seasoned perfectly. Staff was really friendly, delivered great service and fast good food. Awesome pickles.

We heard good things and decided to try for ourselves. Exceeded our expectations! Great service, friendly staff, and the food…..special was a Ruben and it blew us away, absolutely melt in your mouth goodness! The BBQ, Bacon, Ranch Burger was delicious down to the last bite! Will be back for sure, especially if they have the Ruben again!

My husband I went there for dinner last night, food was AMAZING as always. I got the lumber Jack burger, it’s flavorful, cooked to perfection. Our desert was on point too, best strawberry crumble ever. Staff there are always friendly and helpful. This is our to-go place when we want authentic American food!

Stopped for a quick bite on the way to Denali, the staff was very friendly and the food delicious. This place is a hidden gem for sure. Would definitely eat here again.
