Gilmer Road House - Hawthorn Woods

We will definitely see Wes and the band at Gilmer Road House again when we are on a jaunt away from home on Chicago's North Side. These people know the true meaning of hospitality. But even if they weren't so warm and wonderful, we would come for food! Fabulous menu and talented kitchen.

Outstanding food and decent selection of drinks. Most of the food and starters are made fresh. Very friendly owners/ staff members. Recommended for lunches and after work appetizers, drinks or even for Friday night out.

The restaurant that always accommodates! I moved here a few years ago. I was missing my old towns local staple foods. Every time I’ve mentioned I’d really like “this or that”, the chef always accommodates and never disappoints!! I love Gilmer Roadhouse! It’s a new “staple” restaurant for our family!

This is a good neighborhood tavern, with nice food and beer selection. Food is good, prices are good. Bar section can be crowded, restaurant section usually is not too bad.

Small place that's been around a long time. Owner and staff are great. Good food and an old-school, tavern-like atmosphere.
