Bidrage med feedbackDelicious seafood dinner near the harbour Located near the rambunctious red light district of St Pauli Brief menu but with solidly reliable pickings Fish; catch of the day, fresh Shrimps; well grilled prawns of sizeable mass Squid of good size, tasty but slightly chewy Beck’s to down the grub with Mind the late night revellers from elsewhere spilling out into the streets
No Stoertebeker beer is offered despite the name. Slightly cheaper than other places and it matches what you get for the price. There is a nice view to the harbour.
We visited this restaurant during our walk along the Elba. We requested fish soup which was quite good but very small portion. Too short visit to give more extensive reviews.
I stopped by here for lunch on my last visit to Hamburg, and I will have to add the Stoertebeker to my must visit places for the future. What a great place to sit and enjoy the view and goings on at the port. Plus, talk about good seafood, I have missed seafood prepared the Hamburg way and this place just took care of my desires. The "Stoertebeker Fischplatte" was just exceptional. Plenty food, and absolutely tasty, just the way I rememberd from me growing up in Hamburg so many years ago. It was a small struggle to finish my meal, especially after having that fantastic smoked eel appetizer, but such good food was not going to waste. The restaurant was very clean, and the wait staff was attentive and helpful. All in All a great experience. If you are nearby and are looking for good seafood, this restaurant is my recommendation, just make sure you bring a big appetite.
My husband and I don't usually take bus tours when we travel, we like to explore the cities on bike or foot, however it was so cold and off/on raining that we decided to give the bus a try. So the guide on our tour suggested this place for good seafood. We actually took the subway back for dinner. It was just a short walk to the subway station. We did pass a restaurant that was PACKED on the way here, but it gave us a feeling of a chain type restaurant so we decided to keep with our original plan of eating here. When we walked in, IT WAS DEAD! there was one couple eating and that was it. The waiter was not exactly warm and cuddly, but did seat us immediately and took our order immediately. We did ask if we could share the fish sampler dish and he said it was no problem. We ordered a fish soup also. Instead of just bringing the dish on one platter and two plates, he actually split it for us in the back, which made us feel like we got more than if we had just split it ourselves. I have to say that the three different fish that we got, were among the best fishes we have ever had. They were cooked to perfection and very flavorful. We were there after dark, so we could not see the harbor that good, but we could tell during the day, it would be a fantastic view. If you want good seafood, at a good price then this place is it. Although our service was pretty good, don't come here for excellent service, come here for good food.
