Piazza Romana - Hamburg

I was at the piazza romana in the grand elysee hotel last night. it is one of many restaurants / caffe / bars in the lobby. but it seemed to me.

We arrived late with 2 children age 11 got a table in the outside of the restaurant were live music was placed, ok try to create atmosphere. we quickly got both eating and drinks, was put in the menu and expected to wait, but flow was great. service was excellent small details of pouring oil and making small plates added points in my book. we all had different tables all well prepared in good Italian style. prise tag was acceptable 4 people 6 dishes, wein etc. at 125€

A last night in hamburg and what a meal to finish with. antipasto, then leber for sue and the kalb for me, followed by a wonderful strawberry dessert. very friendly and professional staff.

Visited the restaurant with our youngs not really hungry, but wanted to eat anyway. greeted by a friendly and professional waiter. all in all it was a very good experience. we had ordered a suppe and three pasta. what an excellent...taste with large portions, although it was a primi. fair prices at the top end of the scale, but now too pricy. would be here again.

We dined here two times during a recent visit to Hamburg. The restaurant is slightly outside the very city centre, but only by a few minutes walk. We would not have spotted you (since you are placed inside a large hotel) if we had not...seen the recommendation in the Michelin guide. Both meals were up to very high standards, in all aspects. The size of the menus is just right (not too small, not too large) which means that you can serve everything on the menu close to perfection, judged by our sampling. We had a pollo with ratatouille, a fish dish, and a calf filet as mains everything very well prepared. Superb wine list with lots of good and very affordable alternatives (including several good 25 cl alternatives). Service (dominated by Italians) very attentive. We particularly liked the nice ambience, with a fine setting without external disturbances (and no loud speaker music in the back ground), providing good opportunities for table talks. A very comfortable restaurant with excellent value for money, well worth the few extra minutes of walk to find this place. .
