Bidrage med feedbackWent as a group of 9 for lunch on Easter Sunday. Kitchen grossly understaffed and and couldn’t cope with what was only a small crowd for lunch. Three of our party did not get their meals till over an hour after the rest of us despite ordering at the same time (and we’d waited over and hour for the first meals) Two of our party ordered the same dish and the second one that came out was half the size of the first. Basically ridiculously slow service, inconsistency of food and staff unresponsive to concerns. Thank goodness the company was good.
On Australia Day, a public holiday, I decided to have lunch at Greenwell Point Bowling Club. It was 1:30 pm and there were about a dozen people in the club. I went to order a steak and schnitzel but was told there was a 2-hour wait. I found this to be ridiculous and assumed that the club didn't want to pay penalty rates. I will not be returning.
We used to be regular visitors to the bistro, but it changed hands and seemed to go down hill. The food quality dropped and it was just not good. BUT we decided to give the bistro another try, with their new menu, after the club took over the running of it. My 94 year old mum in law was provided with a small version of the adult meal so that was good rather than having to eat a child type meal! Thank you for doing that! We were certainly not disappointed and really glad we did return! Everything was cooked just right! All in all a most pleasant experience! Thanks so much!
Called in here for lunch and tried the $10 lunch specials from the menu list, to be completely honest it wasn't even worth half that price of five dollars, this must have been one of the poorest unappealing lunch specials i have ever had from a club bistro. small servings that looked like they had been just thrown on the plate, the fish seemed to have come from a frozen no name box and the tiny thin schnitzel was dry and overcooked, even the persons toasted sandwich on the next table looked like just a couple of slices from a Woolworth home brand loaf squashed together with a sliver of cheese in between. come on guys this was just embarrassing. on the good side the club in general is very friendly and has that comfy feel about it, and the Chinese restaurant within the club is excellent your be pushed to find better anywhere including china town in Sydney so this might be a better option for a feed, also might the two fish shops or hotel bistro just around the corner in Greenwell points main street.
The bistro at the bowling club has always been between good and ok over the years we’ve been going there. Now there is a new menu with broader choices and I tried the new gourmet salad for dinner. It was very good!
