Rapids Brewing Company - Grand Rapids

Rapids Brewing Company is a solid brewery with an equally solid food menu. We visited for their Oktoberfest celebration, which involved the ceremonial tapping of a new keg and included free pours (always appreciated! . The “It Has Layers” pizza featured a nice array of alliums and was definitely tasty. It should be noted that there weren’t any dairy-free options, which was somewhat surprising given that so many other breweries on the wood fire pizza bandwagon have plant-based options. My flight of beers included a Hefeweizen, an Oktoberfest, a wet-hopped IPA, and a vanilla porter. The beers were a standard, decent representation of each variety. All in all, if I find myself in Grand Rapids again, I’ll probably return.

Bier and pizza are great. I would say the pizza is too oily and the crust too thin.

A bit loud from the traffic, but good beer and eat!
