Waterfront Restaurant - Gibsons

You can't go wrong with the Waterfront Restaurant in lower Gibsons. The harbour view will entertain you while you're waiting for you meal to arrive. It's not upscale...it's the right scale.

Briefly, the view is lovely, the service was (at best) neutral, the breakfast was largely forgettable with the exception of the hash browns- nice and the eggs benedict- awful sauce. Eating breakfast out in Canada is such a holiday treat. We had been looking forward to the first breakfast of our holiday but unfortunately we left this restaurant feeling distinctly underwhelmed.

Never have I felt so badly about going to a restaurant. I was heading to Molly's Reach for a nice brunch with the miss and it was just packed so we just decided to walk down the street to find another spot eat. never have I felt more disappointed in literally EVERYTHING about this restaurant besides the VIEW. took over 10mins to be given a menu after we were seated. another 15 mins to get a "drink order" which was water and a caesar. Didn't even end up giving us two breakfast menus so we had to share it to decide what we could order. the food was completely disgusting that we walked out leaving it all on the table. wouldn't have paid the bill if I was not with this girl. +++ FOOD +++ Asked me how i wanted my eggs? over hard. so what? they come out over easy, if not less cooked than that, bacon had to be paper thin and burnt to the ground. my poutine had to have like water gravey it was so gross. like soup. and the cheese curds? non-existant and it was the smallest amount of cheese that was normal ~ not curds, GRATED cheese. The eggs benny had to be the worst thing on the menu also. the sauce had to be out of a package and looked like it got hard and stale. chucky before it was even served to us. Then seeing the table over get a bunch of fish and chips which looked disgusting and the tar tar sauce comes in little "Kraft" premade packages. just disgusting. I would never tell anyone about this place or to ever go their. only thing I would say is how utterly disgusting and grossed out i was by the food and the server. never came back once to give us water, ask how the food was or here is the bill. he sat doing nothing and he is even lucky i paid the bill. Really hungry because the food wasn't even really edible. had to go into sechelt and get another meal.

So we decided to go for dinner and heard some great reviews about this place and decided to try it out. Horrible service. We waited 1/2 hr for cold cheese frys and a seafood skillet, no check ins and had 2 cups of coffee. The waitress basically dropped the plate down in front of my husband. The burgers were delicious as was the Hawaiian special but when we left to pay the bill the waitress was very sorry because we didn't leave her a tip. Well? We explained why and she was not too happy about it. Not to mention they charged us for a gravy and we never got it. I will never return ever!

We're return customers. Not too busy on a lazy Sunday afternoon, after the morning rush. Service struggles to keep up with the few customers but provided more than ample portions with outstanding flavours. The Sunshine Coast lives thrives on the steady stream of travelers, but sometimes struggles with trying to serve them all! Go with the familiar tried and true. We were slightly early for the more expanded dinner menu that boasted local fare.
