Restaurante O Portão - Funchal

Lovely restaurant with great friendly staff, we were seated outside as it was very warm, food was very good, Poncha was fine,we did intend to go again but ran out of nights.One not to be missed.

Wow, this was by far the best I had in Madeira. The bread with sweet potato was the best bread I have ever had. The muscles were just delicious and the scabbard Madeira style was just beautiful. I loved it. The waiters were lovely and friendly and I felt very relaxed. The poncha was indeed the best I tried (I tried a few). Well worth a visit.

Five stars without asking! during their vacation in madeira they must enjoy a nice dinner here. super friendly and nice staff, eating is simply amazing a group of us ordered thunfish, salmon, otopus and bark espetada and we couldn't decide what was the best because they were all made high-class! and don't hesitate to try their desserts above all the cream with one around! it was really something!

Wonderful restaurant and eat. large selection of traditional and popular kitchen. more attentive manager and waiter, always ready with suggestions and some dishes can be shared. excellent fish dishes local caught and the best traditional fish dish with bananas in the city. excellent garnel - the best I ate on madeira. good prices. it is really worth eating here. will be back soon.

Great restaurant in funchal old town with a beautiful atmosphere anf great host! local food with gourmet touch. they would really recommend
