Pastelaria Penha D'aguia - Funchal

We visited Pastelaria Penha D'Aguia in afternoon and were looking for something to eat (takeout), when we came past the pastelaria. Choosing is difficult, because everthing looks so delicious!

Like so many good cafes in Funchal outdoor and indoor seating is provided. My wife had one of the best coffees she has had since we arrived on holiday and I had the most amazing mango smoothie. Prices are average and service is spot on. Location is ideal and always appears busy. I feel guilty in admitting that our shared pastel de nata was up there with the best.

They have a great selection of lovely coffees, iced teas, and hot chocolates, and unlike many other cafes in Funchal, these are served in large cups (rather than the little espresso cups that seem to be the norm in the town). The pastries are wonderful too. We visited a couple of times as we enjoyed it so much, and it seemed popular with the locals on both occasions.
