Museu Cafe Petisco - Funchal

We ordered the 'menu del dia ' (entree and drinks special) and were both very pleased with the meals. The specials change daily and the wine/drinks selection is very good. Nice offering of vegetarian options. I appreciated that the vegetarian options were more than just an 'after thought ' that someone felt obligated to put on the menu, but rather, something that they were proud to serve.. We sat outside with a lovely view of a church. The service was excellent. We reserved a table at 1230 and were the only people there at first, but the restaurant quickly filled for lunch. I would definitely recommend booking a reservation if you want to be guaranteed a table.

Great little find right in the centre of Funchal, went for the 9 euro lunch with wine and coffee which was great value and a good glass of wine both in size and content. Also went for an evening meal and this is an underrated place with innovative fresh food at a good price, staff were friendly and was a nice place to sit. Would recommend!

I had the vegetarian menu of the day for 9 euros containing a mushroom risotto, a drink and a coffee. The Risotto was really delicious and the service was fast. With me was a friend who had the meat plate of the day, which was nice, the meat was well prepared, but the potatoes were not. To dessert we had the cake of the day, which was also delicious.

Was there for a quick munch, the cheese cake is nicely presented although the portion is small. The light cheese mousse with passion fruit, chocolate and biscuits crumbs came together well.

Beautiful setting, friendly staff and delicious coffee
