Med - Funchal

We always try to visit the Med when we are on holiday in Funchal, so glad to discover that it was open again if only on Wednesdays for their Meat Feast menu. The service and ambience in the Med is always wonderful particularly if you get a table on the balcony. We had Chateaubriand for two with green pepper sauce. We asked for it to be medium rare and when it was carved at our table, the6 checked that it was to our liking which it was. The meat tender and delicious and the sauce a wonderful accompaniment (there were veg too). We had the recommended bottle of red wine and tighter with our starters and desserts a wonderful evening meal.

We were staying at the hotel. Superb picanha steak best we’ve had. Lovely staff, service very good despite the restaurant being full. Currently only open one night a week, hope that changes very soon.

Food up to usual standard and service really good. Not suffered at all because of the Covid restrictions.

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the eden mar hotel about the Christmas holidays. we booked a table for two for the Christmas Eve Gala dinner. this was simply an amazing experience and every penny worth. fantastic eating, real sincere service and wonderful atmosphere. it was a real holiday highlight. many thanks to all who are involved in this wonderful evening from prep to delivery. we stay over christmas and new year in madeira and book the med again. it's an easy decision for us.
