Coracao Vegano - Funchal

Lady serving was so lovely, helpfuland friendly. We loved the quirky decor and reggae music. I have a diary allergy and am vegetarian by choice so eating out can be difficult anywhere. I loved the chicken burger and chips although chicken was really like real chicken and I'm not used to that. I enjoyed the homemade deep fried chips so much : i had lovely red wine and it can be difficult to ensure wine had no milk products. Thank you I thoroughly enjoyed without the worry. We came at 8:00 in the evening and they were annoyed because they wanted to close the restaurant. The food they served was tasteless and cold. As for the fries, never seen anything like them anywhere. The service was totally useless and incompetent. The restaurant has no atmosphere at all, no style, is dirty and messy. Much too expensive for such a lousy dinner! We cannot recommend such a chaotic restaurant to anyone. We find it a shame for the vegan community!

We went there because of the vegan food and since we just had a delicious vegan meal in another restaurant the day before; competition was hard. This restaurant is nothing fancy, nothing cosy, decorations rate from 'eclectic ' to plain ugly. The waitress started by naming a list of dishes which we could not order because the chef was not present. So we went for fried rice and a vegan burger with extra (vegan) cheese which costs an extra 2 euros. Part from its price, the burger had nothing extraordinary; it had one slice of cheese! and the fried rice was ok. Couldn 't get out too fast and not to be back!

Whilst not strictly speaking vegans, we are quite partial to eating food without meat or fish and have had some really great vegan meals. Therefore when we stumbled upon this restaurant we thought we’d give it a try. We ordered the edamame beans, tacos, fried rice and the fried noodles. How disappointing to find that the food was tasteless and bland. The service was friendly and quick, however I think the waitress should have picked up on the amount of food that was left uneaten. We will not return.

Had a nice lunch here with my boyfriend. We shared spring rolls to start which were good then he had the Jamaican plate (fake chicken, rice, veg salad in a sauce that may not be to everyone’s taste) which he really enjoyed and I had the noodles and veg. The Jamaican plate was good value for money but the noodles was a small portion and over priced. I had read reviews that said of a long wait time but the service was quick and waitress friendly.
