Spelunker's - Front Royal

Really wonderful local burger and frozen custard joint. My family has visited several times over the last decade after we visit Shenandoah National Park. It’s a local favorite too and often packed with people. It’s a great, lively place to grab a cold treat or rest with family for a meal. Their burgers come with the standard toppings (they’ll ask if you want them all) and you should let them know separately if you want any premium toppings or cheese. The custards are a real treat. Really sweet though, so if you don’t have a sweet tooth a junior or small scoop is probably enough. The staff here are super nice and friendly. After you order, they give you a little numbered tent so that they can find you and bring your food over.

I was quite pleased to see boxes of Idaho potatoes! And hot damn, those fries are my new favorite!

Just the best burger I've ever had, it's everything a burger should be. Good thing this place is over an hour from me, otherwise I'd have heart disease in a month.

I ordered their helltown chicken sandwich and they gave me a side of tums the sandwich was actually spicy, the sauce they added went great and it was huge! My sandwich and small fries came up to $11.24 which wasn’t too bad. Since everything is made fresh and the lines are always long, just make sure to be patient but overall worth it.
