Dine By The River Northumberland Arms

Upon arriving punctually, it appeared that the restaurant was unaware of our reservation, a fact that one of the staff later acknowledged. Despite this oversight, we were able to choose from the full menu, and we were also offered the Express menu. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our only complaint was that we seemed to be seated quite close to the kitchen. Unfortunately, the noise was quite disruptive, as we could hear the staff shouting to each other and the music playing. Overall, we would be inclined to return, but we would likely request a table in the main dining area rather than in the corridor connecting the restaurant to the bar.

I enjoyed a wonderful meal at this restaurant and plan to return soon. I highly recommend it!

I booked afternoon tea via the hotel’s website a week in advance as a birthday surprise. However, when we arrived, the hotel had no record of our booking. They attributed the issue to a lack of internet, but I believe temporary arrangements should have been in place to avoid such problems. Additionally, they blamed OpenTable for the mix-up. The service was slow and unsatisfactory, although I must say the chef was excellent. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
