Putter's At Stone Ridge Golf Course

I absolutely love this place! The Caesar salad is delicious, and the coleslaw pairs perfectly with the best fish and chips I've ever had. It's just a seasonal offering. The restaurant is also very clean, and the staff is friendly.

The restaurant is acceptable for standard pub fare, but don't expect the quality that comes with the label of an 18-hole championship golf course. Avoid the calamari and crab cakes, and stick to the burgers, fries, and perhaps, if you're lucky, fish and chips. There are no bottled beers available; the selection is limited to cans only. When we inquired about this, the only explanation we received was, “Sir, we are a golf course.” What does that even mean? The cans of beer came warm under the hot sun (without the frosty glasses one would anticipate), and we had to discreetly hide them under our tables to keep cool in the shade. The golf course itself is pristine and dry, almost as if they were unable to access free water from the nearby Ryan Lake. Additionally, the landscaping around the terrace obstructed our view of the lake and course; it seemed like it hadn't been trimmed at all this year. Overall, I was very disappointed after having enjoyed an excellent culinary experience elsewhere.
