Georges Restaurant - Elliot Lake

Service was attentive but the food was mediocre at best. We had fish and chips that was unremarkable and the dessert even less so

Had lunch today and the garden salad and fish and chips with cole slaw was excellent. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was friendly.

My fiance and I eat out at Georges regularly. We typically try to sit in the corner with the fire place. It is very romantic. The servers are always friendly, professional and prompt. I typically order their panzerottis, which is also a favorite of my fiance. Personally, I appreciate how I can have a fine dining experience in Elliot Lake without breaking the bank. All of Georges prices are more than reasonable. In addition, it is not uncommon for George (the George who is 'Georges ' to make a tour out to the customers to ensure they have had a fine dining experience. This little known jewel is well worth a visit. It is also a great place to enjoy a drink or two while swapping stories with George, who is well acquainted with the contemporary history of Elliot Lake. I especially like how the walls of his restaurant are adorned with old Elliot Lake hockey photos it is evident that many teams pictured were sponsored by George. In short, George has a big heart. The other day I asked my fiance how she felt about Georges after we ordered take out and she summed it up: 'All the comforts of home in a meal. ' George and staff, thanks for everything!

Well, the food was fine for the most part. Fish and chips , fish was a bit muddy (undercooked) . The desert pie crust was soggy on the bottom, and was not fresh. The spaghetti and meatballs were good. The server was friendly and attentive, but I was horrified when she brought the glasses to the table holding them with her fingers in them. This is very unsanitary especially as she is handling money also. The decor ok , but needs updating, and cleaning. Overall, I think this place is more of a hangout for drinkers, with food service secondary. The pricing was fair, but I will pay a bit more for other, better, options in town.

Had my first pizza from George's and now I am finally satisfied that I have found the best pizza in town.... ordered and delivered in under 20 minutes the pizza was hot and delicious... will be ordering there again and again...
