Federick Restaurant - Ellesmere

The food is good, place is hygienic, very nice staff. But, the hakka food here isn't what I was hoping for. The food is good and tasty, esp the manchurian balls. Yet its not what I expected. Its different from the Hakka cuisine one gets in India, manage expectations and one will like it a lot.

I remember it being better. I haven't been in a few years and I went for lunch got a Manchurian chicken and it was watery. It lacked flavour and was not close to as good as I remember. Maybe some of you may think I'm being a little harsh but honestly for the OG of Hakka in Toronto it was bad. They can do better.Service was great. Restaurant was clean. Food needs improvement.

I visited Federick's twice in the last month.The first time I had an incredible experience dining in and ordering the Chili Chicken lunch special. The food was prepared quickly and the serving size could fit two meals comfortably.The second time, I had ordered a hot sour soup for pick up. I was told ~20 minutes and upon arrival, I was told it would be a few more minutes but the food wasn't prepared for another 25.Moving forward, please try your best to provide accurate timings to customers who may be arriving on a lunch break to pick up their food.I'd be wary about ordering things that are not on the lunch special menu if you are in a rush!

Service is absolutely horrible, spent more than $200.00 on food they gave me my food minus 4 dishes that I had ordered, I to called the restaurant 8 times however they picked up the phone and hung up on me every time. Finally, I had to drive back to the restaurant all the way from Pickering. When I reached there , the girl at the counter knew very well that my order was missing 4 dishes, when I told her that I kept calling and they were hanging up the phone. She just chuckled and then said, we will make fresh, so always check your orders before you leave !! The chicken pakoras were burnt !!The Frederick 's at Markham is a better restaurant. The Ellesmere location is horrible ??? . If I could select zero/ no stars , I would!!Parking: Parking is a nightmare!!

Fantastic food! Tourist from London and Federick is a must visit for me, the Hakka food is the best I have ever had. Particularly enjoyed the chilli chicken and the manchurian fried rice. Service was great despite being very busy, and the food was very afforable!
