Jimmy's Sushi - Eagle River

We ordered gyoza, a pork bun, and the Oasis sushi (#42). When the gyoza arrived, it was carelessly tossed onto the plate, looking nothing like what was shown in the pictures. Furthermore, it was undercooked—soggy instead of crispy, which was quite disappointing. Next, the pork buns were not what we expected either. When I took a bite, the dough was rubbery and unappetizing; it seemed like they had simply been microwaved. As for the sushi, that’s when we decided to leave. The first bite was awful—it was supposed to be crispy on the outside but turned out to be mushy instead. My daughter took a bite too and immediately remarked that the sauce was far too sour, overpowering any other flavor. The presentation of the sushi was peculiar as well; it looked as if it had been haphazardly arranged in a half-hearted circle with some random greens thrown in the middle. "Oasis"? It was more like a soggy mess with a few greens. We couldn’t even finish our sushi as it was just so disappointing. The restaurant itself had an older vibe, but upon closer inspection, it was really unkempt. The tables were dirty, and the side heaters were covered in grease and food spills. Overall, the place felt rundown and extremely unappealing. I have no intention of returning. I had hoped for a much better experience.

We had a strong craving for sushi, and Jimmy's certainly satisfied it. Every dish we tried was fantastic, starting with the soup served at the beginning and continuing with the rolls we ordered. We tried the XXX roll and the Angry Dragon roll, both of which were excellent. We will definitely be returning!

I'll keep this short since I usually visit the other location. This one is just as good, offering the same extensive menu of Japanese cuisine and sushi, along with convenient online ordering. Excellent experience!

We recently ordered takeout from this restaurant, and it exceeded our expectations! My meal was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious—no complaints at all! My husband had sushi, which he found to be fresh and of great quality, which is impressive since he’s quite particular about his sushi. We’ve dined in once before and had a pleasant experience; the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was casual and enjoyable.

Being new in town, we decided to try this restaurant due to its excellent reviews, and it truly lived up to the hype. We called in our order and picked it up within 15 to 20 minutes, which made for a quick and easy experience. Once we got home, we were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions. I will definitely be returning!
