The Relic Smokehouse And Pub

Visiting from out of town. Didn't expect live entertainment (Thursday night 7:30, too loud to chitchat). The guitarist came off stage, and out the door to ask us to stay! So our party of 8 were kindly seated on the sidewalk outdoors. We had a pleasant experience with the waitress who served basil tea, and Huckleberry Lemonade for my teen nephews. A dish for 4 to share was enough for more like 8. If it wasn't what you expected, they make it right. Great experience ?.

We love smoked meat and cheese usually. I’m not sure if we came on an off day or something. Everything was so over smoked there was no other taste. With meat, it’s more doable. But everything else was over smoked. To be fair, they call sides like “Smoky cinnamon apples”. But I could not taste anything other than smoke. My mouth was like a campfire and though the meat was cooked to medium rare, it tastes charred. Ended up not eating all of it and spent the afternoon with a very upset stomach. Even the air was so full of smoke scent that it gave me a headache. The smoke is too much of a gimmick at that point.

Good Bar B Q. Some of the best I've had in Idaho. Some of the items were as good as the rustic pig in Fruitland Idaho. Service was not as good as the Rustic, but was better than Bodacious Pig in Eagle.We had a few of the combo platters. After sampling the different meats we confirm the brisket is the best item on the menu.Service was good, albeit a little slow, we came around 1:00, ordered, got our food a little after 2:00, and left about 3:00. We were not in a rush though so all was good. If you want Barbecue in Coeur d’Alene I recommend coming here for some solid food. We probably won’t come back, but not saying it’s a bad place at all. I like the decor and the food was good.Some of the other reviews have talked about the noise I think it has to do with the acoustics of the room being a half moon with shiplap siding. We were one of three parties, but one of those was a party of six with a woman who was maniacally laughing the entire meal. We were happy when her food came! This is the reason we won’’t come back.I imagine the room is deafening when busy.Parking: Few spots in front and around corner
