Sunset - Coeur d'Alene

Living in the CDA from 2001-2005 during the participation in Gonzaga. This used to be one of my favorite places to have a drink, and then in the early 20s had the best jukebox in the city. After I returned for a visit, I was so glad that the place didn't change at all. It is exactly as it was almost 20 years ago and this is a wonderful thing in today’s world of “new is better”. Great mood, cool moats and a really nice staff. If I could give him 100 stars, I would.

I absolutely adore dive bars. Always have. I appreciate a spot that is welcoming, laid-back, budget-friendly, and has a good vibe. That's exactly what you'll find at this place. When I first visited Sunset, I went by myself. As a young woman, I felt completely at ease and secure. The staff and regulars were all friendly and greeted me warmly. On my second visit, a few familiar faces recognized me and even remembered my name. The drinks were affordable, if not downright cheap. The bar has some fantastic pool tables. The noise level is low, with just casual chatter, the clinking of glasses, and laughter filling the air. The lighting is dim, and the bar has seating at the counter as well as small tables on two levels. The staff is friendly and attentive. There is one thing to note – this is a smoking establishment. If that's a deal breaker for you, then this might not be the spot for you. I find the bar to be relaxed, so there's no need to dress up. I always make sure to shower and change my clothes after a visit, regardless of the day. I highly recommend this bar for anyone looking for a laid-back atmosphere to enjoy a drink.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years and have always been treated like family from the very first visit. It is a cozy and welcoming place, and definitely one of my favorite bars.
