Bidrage med feedbackI absolutely love this hidden gem of a place. Where else can you get cheap beers, amazing burgers and A lister DJ sets in Central London? I've seen Norman Cook here Twice, Chemical Brothers and Cold War Steve. What more do you want?! Best bar in London.
Possibly the smallest venue we’ve ever been to, and we’ve been to some intimate gigs. Stage at one end of a room, not much bigger than our lounge/diner at home, then what is basically a corridor to a small bar area. Really claustrophobic. The act we saw (Joseph J Jones) was just him and a keyboard player. Can’t imagine a band fitting on the stage! Some seating available, but more retro primary school than contemporary. Bar upstairs, separate from the venue, which is where the toilets are. Lived the performance, but doubt we’ll be rushing back ... sorry
I absolutely love this little place. It's a feircly independent bar /club /venue and we should all support it. They do cheap drink deals, great food and best of all I've seen Fatboy Slim here twice and now the Chemical Brothers. Insane! Keep up the good work
I haven't been here for a few years, and it was a great night musically. Three great bands and a really good atmosphere. However, the service was sloppy, the pints were short, served in plastic glasses (despite the fact wine was served in a glass and glasses from upstairs were allowed in the lower bar) and on one occasion the person behind the bar decided to take an 80p tip on a single pint, which was also short. When I pointed this out, I was treated like I was being unreasonable rather than they were being presumptive. It's just rude, especially when pouring short pints. I would have liked to have given more than a 3/5, but that attitude needs sorting out for sure.
I called to see the Coldwar Steve exhibition and even though I've seen most of the work online I still enjoyed the visit. A country that makes celebrities of people like Gregg Wallace, James Corden and Piers Morgan thankfully still has redeeming qualities which were demonstrated to me by the combination of products in my review title. Whilst I'm a bit long in the tooth to become a regular at a hipster place like The Social, I did like the style of the upstairs bar. The range of drinks is also pretty impressive too.
