Soulivia's Art Soul - Chesapeake

This was my first time going. The service was extremely slow. I had to ask for water and a menu after about 25 minutes. The food was good and the portions were sized well. I believe with some additional training of staff the experience would be different.

Save your money and your sanity. A $25 required hold per person, non refundable if any changes or cancellations outside of 2 days notice we expected much better service and experience than we had. All the reviews about extremely slow and discombobulated service are on point. We had to constantly flag down our server and the manager for drinks and food orders. The wait time for our food was ridiculous. One of our dishes was not put in the system with the rest of our orders so it didn’t come out with everyone else’s meal. The manager then proceeded to put in the order “again” and that was delivered to another table. Third order was finally delivered after we had finished our meals. The food was good but not at all worth the frustration and headache of the 2.5 hr ordeal. The manager, and at times the chef as well, were having to review tabs with several tables around us. Too many other restaurants around to enjoy that get it right.

I took my cousin to Soulivia’s for her birthday. We had an excellent time. The food was delicious the service was great the live music was very enjoyable!

Made reservations, waited 30 minutes and left because we still hadn’t gotten water or our drink order. Looked around, no other tables at bar or sitting had drinks or foods. The same two people were seating and running around aimlessly. Very obviously inexperienced in the service industry (introductions and interactions were clunky). The prices were insane for level of service. Didn’t get to try food since we left.

Took my friend here to celebrate his 30th birthday. We got there around 8:20PM and had the restaurant to ourselves. The ambiance was perfect, shuttle jazz in the background, and Julie (our server) was AMAZING! She was very accommodating, professional, and on point with her service. The only downside was they were out of a lot of items we were hoping to try. I plan to go back for brunch this weekend alone and I’m hoping they’ll be restocked by then. Highly recommend this place for any occasion.
