The Cascade - Chennai (Madras)

We had a home delivery ... cascade has never let me down .. gud fud. Luv their tomyum soup and chilli garlic noodles. But the delivery time was to much.

5/5 for the fried rice and quantity. Bit pricey though. The momos tasted great with the sauce. 4/5 for the ambience. A nice place to go for dinner with family. Extremely good service.

So this is my first review on Zomato, I always call up or have a chat with the manager at the restaurant and leave my feedback. I am usually not very vocal about it on public forums but I guess I should start sharing my feedback so that it can help others too. The dinner I had today truly deserves my first review. Unfortunately no pics with the review since I ordered in and just FYI they don't have dine in options, only take away and delivery. <br/ <br/ Let's begin!<br/ <br/ 1. Placing the order I was in the mood to have Bulgogi, a Korean dish which I regularly have at the other cascade restaurants but they don't cook tenderloin here anymore (they used to earlier so I had to completely replan my dinner options on call but the person on the phone was very patient and suggested me with lot of options. I finally decided upon a new dish they've added in the starters, Thai Chilli Chicken. For main course I ordered Chicken Fried Rice and Chicken Bell Pepper, 1 each. The calling experience was wonderful and my order delivery time was 45 minutes. <br/ <br/ 2. Delivery Delivery was done in 30 minutes and I did not have to guide the delivery boy twice. He was really smart and found his way from virugambakkam to kk nagar, I usually have a hard time guiding the delivery boys to my place and they call like a hundred times so this was awesome for me. Delivery was free.<br/ <br/ 3. Fooooooood <br/ <br/ a. Packaging Highest quality silver foil packaging and dinner was really hot.<br/ <br/ b. Quantity Thai Chilli Chicken was the right quantity for 2 people. Fried rice was more than enough for 2 people considering both are good eaters. Chicken Bell pepper gravy was a lot (more than usual so we'll be having it for lunch tomorrow again with fried rice again from Cascade. (Order quantity 1 each of all dishes <br/ <br/ c. Taste this is the most important part for me, the Thai Chilli Chicken was just too good. It was the best part of my meal. It was very flavourful, juicy and spicy but in a good way. My dad usually doesn't have outside food (he's a chef and ex marine, he prefers home cooked food almost always 99.99% but he was raving about the chicken. He just loved it. He even called the restaurant manager and conveyed his delight, he couldn't control his emotions. <br/ The Fried rice was well prepared, rice wasn't over cooked nor was it undercooked and same applies to the vegetables. The chef wasn't stingy with the chicken so every bite I had, there was chicken in it.<br/ The chicken bell pepper gravy was tasty and the chicken was very juicy and tender. It was medium spicy, just the way I like it. Like I mentioned earlier quantity here was a lot, not complaining. <br/ <br/ d. Price not so important for me considering the taste is good but I'll mention the split up as it matters to a lot of people. Cascade is one of the few Chinese restaurants I like in Chennai. Had lunch with a friend. We had Chili garlic noodles, Kwailaam Chicken, Cauliflower manchurian and two mocktails. Liked almost everything except the mocktails. They were too dilute. The service was very good. The bill was around 1200INR. Apart from the mocktails the price was quite reasonable considering the quality and quantity.

It's a place where you expect to have a good Chinese cuisine and they serve you upto the expectation. Its very good in terms of quality and quantity. And the prices are cheap. I would love to visit again. Please try the Thai fried rice. Its amazing!!!
