Pecos River Cafe - Carlsbad

I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast! Their pancakes are big and fluffy, and they offer a variety of omelettes (the Western omelette is my favorite, and it certainly didn't disappoint). I would have given them 5 stars, but their prices are a bit higher than some other places. Additionally, the grill can make the atmosphere smoky at times. Despite that, I will definitely return!

I feel a bit misled. The service was very nice and quick. While I was looking at the menu, the server mentioned that I could order something off-menu. I asked if they had croissants, and they did, so I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant. I was expecting to pay around $9.99 at most, but it ended up costing $14.99. I would have appreciated a warning about the price, especially since it wasn't that impressive. The cheese was shredded and just clumped in some areas instead of being evenly spread.

Quaint little cafe in the heart of Carlsbad. I ordered the basics. 2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 pancakes, hashbrowns, coffee and ice water. Great service and short wait time. The food was good but my only complaint there was the sausage links. Iprefer Jimmy Dean-style sausage links and theirs were the spongy kind you would expect at a hotel continental breakfast. Theprice was a bit steep IMO but I guess we know who to thank for that. All in all a good experience.

The food was fantastic and the service was excellent! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner’s husband, who was kind enough to give up his table to accommodate us. He was a really nice guy, and we enjoyed chatting about football. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. We were looking forward to having breakfast there for the third consecutive day, but the only disappointment was that they were closed on Saturday. However, everyone deserves a break. Thank you to Pecos River Cafe for making our stay in Carlsbad a much better experience!

Pros: (1) Quick food (2) Fairly priced (3) Menu has some variety Cons: (1) Burger patty is pretty flavorless (2) Fries are flavorless and squishy (they aren?t cooked with salt) (3) The green chiles aren?t flavorful just sorta squishy and warm (4)That cinnamon roll is drowning in butter so much that much of it wasn?t melted but just soft
