Bidrage med feedbackIt was a drizzly Normandy afternoon and we wanted a late lunch. La Tocade was not busy, so we sat outside under the awning and ordered. My wife had the Soupe de Poisson and I had Boudine Noir. The fish soup was rich and tasty, filled with fine flavors. The blood sausage was served over a tasty tar, dusted with fringes of the apple and immersed with a balsamic reduction sauce. Absolutely amazing. Service was excellent, but then we were the only ones.
Here with two teenagers in October. Food was perfect ok we ate early (6ish so not so busy so simply served. Three of our party had pizza, burgers, chips (all right). I had Moule a massive bunch of very small...Muls that became a bit fiddly and repetitive to the end! This route of the road in Cabourg is very touristy and therefore quite expensive, but there are many restaurants to choose from. Service ok, though a little strenuous, especially if I have the credit card wrong many tutorials and increased eyebrows! A good family meal that would be expected from an English pizza hut, but more expensive. Would you suggest to look around first or check Tripadvisor for better recommended places to eat (we had no internet access!
Unfortunately we were a large group (12 so difficult to find a restaurant to seat all especially an Easter weekend at 1pm. I had to track down the waitress to get a table, and as beggars cannot be choosers we were stuck next to...the kitchen. The first waitress was the saving grace of this restaurant as she was dynamic, thoughful and ready...the other a real brut! It was clear upon arrival that one could not expect much they serve pizza plus all types of Norman delicacies moules, tartiflette à la normade (never heard of this before . Just too much on the menu for anything to be really good. Anyway, pizzas were fine, chips excellent (I know surprising! but the rest quite mediocre. The wait was excuriating especially for one little boy who was the last to be served his pizza. Crêpes apparently tastless, barely any nutella, sugar/butter not caramelised. Who can fail to make a good crêpe!? Anyway, if you can go elsewhere...mais surtout do try to eat your dessert across the way in the patisserie chez Dupont!
