Riverview And Bar - Burlington

The Riverview quickly became one of my favorite places. Her signature Pork Chop was something I really enjoyed, and for the last two times it was perfect! Last night, however, they turned things up as they were done and it was a failure. Previously it was a 16oz pork chop with a kind of espresso rub served with potatoes and asparagus. Yesterday evening it was only charred without seasoning, sliced and served over a bed fennel. I hope it was a night because the old way they prepared the pig was not a second. This new style is a miss and I would very hesitate to have it again. My wife and daughter both had the crabcake sandwich and it was also a failure. Too much bread in crab meat and the overall taste was very dirty. My son had a burger and that was very good. We went last night and it was a reopening of renovations and I hope they come on their old ways (December 2022), where everyone had a fantastic dinner and was looking forward to coming back.

I have good and not so good experiences here. The service is either good or you get left waiting. It’s sadly the only decent place in Burlington City so

We liked the servers and the menu was very interesting. The ambiance was very lively, music was cool. I ordered the veggie pizza, which was good but didn't seem to match the description that well (butternut squash and glaze were missing? . The lasagne was also tasty. We loved the flourless cake. There were minor flaws, but we will most definitely come back if we are in the area. My drink (French 75 was delicious and we liked the menu deal offerings.

I really want to give Riverview a better recommendation. Sadly I cannot. I made an early Tuesday reservation. 5:30. The kitchen opens at 5:00. When I arrived in time the hostess said “the kitchen was backed up”. ! and I would have a wait. She wanted me to wait in the reception area and I had to prevail on her to be seated at my table. There were perhaps 12-14 people seated in the dining room with perhaps 6 at the bar. Not crowded at all. My server came to my table and also said the kitchen was backed up. It is inexcusable that a restaurant open for a half hour should have a back up. I was served my dinner 45 minutes after I arrived. Either poor planning or inadequate or unreliable or untrained staff.

It was Halloween weekends and all the workers dressed up. We even had the chefs who were dressed as fathers/priests to bless our food. 10/10 experience
