Half moon bay has several very good Italian restaurants but this one was exceptional tonight. The beet salad is a good example of taking a classic dish and making it exceptional. The chef did this on most of the dishes we ordered. Even the bruschetta was a fresh riff on a classic dish. The meal was pricey at $75 per person. The quality of the food was great and the presentation was excellent
What an awesome experience. After a walking tour, we headed to this Italian restaurant for lunch. If lunch is this good, I cannot imagine what a wonderful experience it must be to have dinner there. Staff graciously made suggestions, and their we're right. Flavors superb and everything cooked to perfection.
This place rocks. Today, my wife and I had lunch there. My hamburger was probably the best I have had in recent history: large lean juicy patty, great rough cut seasoned fries, mushroom toppings, and all the garnish. My wife's pizza was equally fantastic. The service was excellent We observed entries that other patrons around us we're having. They all appeared well prepared. Rest assured we will return to this truly wonderful restaurant
I think I annoyed my mom when I remarked how delicious the food was after every bite. The wagyu carpaccio was light and refreshing, the octopus imbued with such savory richness, the squid ink risotto had such depth of tomato and ocean flavors that married together so delightfully with every bite. Dessert was the Panna Cotta, which brought tart yogurt-flavored freshness.
The Gnocchi was $20.00 and was more of an appetizer portion and not very good. Our meal came with Potato Gratin, who was never brought to us. After we were almost finished with our meal, the server finally passed, but we had to call for it to advise. We then sat for another 20 minutes and saw the potato gratin sitting on the counter waiting for the server to come to us. When she finally came back, we didn't want it cold and by themselves. It should be served with our Ribeye. The whole experience was regrettable. The rib was good. the Broccoli was burned. Over $30 was not acceptable. I hope she learns this. Also hope that the restaurant will offer the prices for what they offer.
